Queer As Folk (USA) is a tv series portraying the lives of 4 gay men, Brian, Michael, Emmet and Ted in Pittsburgh. The story picks up from the evening Brian meets Justin. It is the same night Brian becomes a father to new-born Gus, parented by lesbians Melanie and Lindsey. The tv series lingers around the ups and downs in the love lives of these gays and lesbians, and their passionate roams for sex. The tv series shows the dilemmas they go through, for acceptance in the society, the homophobic pressures they face, the rejection by family members as well as in the work place.

Brian is the bad boy of the group. He never sleeps with the same person twice. Every night, there is a new game boy for him. Always portrayed as a top, hardly bottom (except once). A marketing executive who cares for no one but himself, just like in his love life. He cares only when he gets what he wants, and he wants sex, power and money. His only soft spots are for Michael, his best friend, and Lindsey, his 'girl' since college. But even so, they have to put up with his attitude of 'no excuses, no apologies, no regrets'. Brian believes that love is only a fairy tale for the weaks... until Justin comes along.

Justin Taylor is the blonde boy of the show. Being the youngest, his character becomes the poster boy for teen-coming-out story. Unsure of what the gay world is like, Justin steps into Liberty Avenue, and an unusual challenge is imposed onto him in the coming-out world when he meets his God - Brian. Obsessed with Brian, Justin does nothing but to long for Brian's attention. Perhaps where others fail, Justin succeeds.

Michael Novotny is Brian's best friend. And the only gay guy in Pittsburgh who has never slept with Brian (which is not true, as Emmett has never either, nor Ted, although there is an almost incident). All know of Michael's crush on Brian, including Brian himself, who uses the opportunities to hinder Michael to move on. What Michael fails to get from Brian, he finds them in Dr. David and later on, in Ben, a HIV +ve partner.

Emmett Honeycut is the tv series Queen. And probably the only character who has worked the most jobs. From a shop assistant, Emmett moves to other profession, which include being a web tv porn star, an event planner and a tv presenter. Emmett is the only gay character in this tv show that deals with the issue of trying to convert to become straight. Emmett finds love and support through his best friend, Ted, and eventually in the hunk football player, Drew.

Ted is the most pitiful character portrayed on the show. As the gay guy who claims no one would sleep with him, Ted has gone from average to worse, before bouncing back. Ted works as the Accountant, who is sacked for watching porn at work. He becomes the owner of the web tv show, which starred Emmett. And when it is closed down, Ted becomes a drug addict, affecting his relationship with Emmett. Eventually Ted works for Brian, and become more stable. His lovelife improves too, especially when he meets back the one who matters - Blake, a young guy whom he had helped earlier on when Blake was on drugs.

From the land that brought us marvelous Beautiful Thing, Get Real, Queer As Folk (UK), Metrosexuality and Gimme Gimme Gimme, here comes another great gay themed tv series - Beautiful People. When I watched the first episode, I was overjoyed to know that it was written by Jonathan Harvey, who wrote us the wonderful Beautiful Thing (1996).

The tv series focuses on gay Simon Doonan in his years of growing up in a dysfunctional family. Here, we have the adult Simon (cute Samuel Barnett) relating to his younger years, played out by a young Simon (Luke Ward-Wilkinson). He was surrounded by a slutty sister, alcoholic mom, blind aunt and a father suspected of two-timing his mother. His best friend hung out with him often, to rate the clothes of the people on the street.

This gay tv series is witty and funny. Wonderfully written, and I cannot wait for another week to catch a new episode. This is definitely one of the best gay product of 2008. Even in the general ranking, it is one of the best tv products of 2008.

I thought I should have included this. : ) This is where JD and Turk sing about guy love.

[J.D.]
Let's face the facts about me and you,
A love unspecified.
Though I'm proud to call you "Chocolate Bear,"
The crowd will always talk and stare.

[Turk]
I feel exactly those feelings, too
And that's why I keep them inside.
'Cause this bear can't bear the world's disdain,
And sometimes it's easier to hide,
Than explain our

[J.D. and Turk]
Guy love,
That's all it is,
Guy love,
He's mine, I'm his,
There's nothing gay about it in our eyes.

[Turk]
You ask me 'bout this thing we share,

[J.D.]
And he tenderly replies,

[Turk]
It's guy love

[J.D. and Turk]
Between two guys.

[Turk]
We're closer than the average man and wife,

[J.D.]
That's why our matching bracelets say Turk and J.D.

[Turk]
You know I'll stick by for the rest of my life.

[J.D.]
You're the only man who's ever been inside of me.

[Turk]
Whoa, I just took out his apendix.

[J.D.]
There's no need to clarify,

[Turk]
Oh no?

[J.D.]
Just let it grow more and more each day.
It's like I married my best friend,

[Turk]
But in a totally manly way.

[J.D. and Turk]
Let's go!
It's guy love,
Don't compromise,
The feeeling of some other guy,
Holding up your heart,
Into the sky.

[J.D.]
I'll be there to care through all the lows.

[Turk]
I'll be there to share the highs.

[J.D. and Turk]
It's guy love,
Between two guys.

[J.D.]
And when I say, "I love you, Turk,"
It's not what it impies.

[J.D. and Turk]
It's guy love
Between
Two
Guys

They are so gay, and they don't even like boys. ;p

Okay. I am one season behind, but I just thought of checking out Greek to find out what the hype is all about this gay boy Calvin Owens (Paul James). I chose this episode, well.. for the episode title sake, and this season is supposed to be the season to break the taboo of Dawson's Creek's Jack, as in gays do have love life.

And you know what. I was impressed. I did not really know Michael's role, but Michael (Max Greenfield), who is Calvin's boyfriend, brings a nervous Calvin to a gay club. It is Calvin's first time, and so, Calvin drags his sister along, who brings along a depressed female friend who needs some cheering up. Where can a depressed girl be cheered up better? None other than gay club, where the guys are hot, and they are always complimenting on the girls on how hot the girls looked.

I love the dialogs. From the straight guys are insensitive to the others... I'm loving this tv series.

My favorite fashionable girls are back. These sharp ladies in the male dominated world make the men work harder to retain their egos. And I just love (and miss) every single moment of these ladies - Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Samantha (Kim Cattrall).

In honor of their return - to the big screen (today) and not TV - I have decided to pen down the obvious gay tv episode of Sex & The City, called All That Glitters.

In this episode, it started with the ladies being bored, and they decided to hang out the hottest place - gay club. Nothing beats the thrill for the 4 ladies to be stuck in the middle of hot, sweaty, muscular men. Even pregnant Miranda could not pass up this chance.

There, while Charlotte is taken away by her gay 'husband', Anthony (Mario Cantone), Miranda bumping into her closet gay colleague Max (Daniel Sauli) and Samantha checking out the meat packages in the men toilet, Carrie had a hard time trying to order a drink until Oliver (Murray Bartlett) shows up. Oliver is a fan of Carrie's column, and the evening ends with a promise of a lunch date between Carrie and Oliver, as well as Carrie ending up with Oliver's gay porn DVD.

One thing leads to another, Carrie bumps into her gay 'husband' Stan (Willie Garson) when she's having lunch with Oliver. Stan kids that Carrie is seeing another gay behind his back, and is jealous of the stolen attention. But it is not Stan who ends up attentionless. In the gay world, a girl stands little chance to hold on to a gay's attention when a gay looks as good as Oliver.

Carrie leaves the place to go back home to her Aidan.

Curious why girls like to watch gay porn? As said in the film, it's to watch the men squirm, when the girls pop in the DVD to watch and laugh together at the gay sex scenes on the TV screen.

Welcome back, ladies.

This was the kiss worth the wait.

Tony (Nicholas Hoult from 'About A Boy' film) had decided to do the 'when in Rome' thing with Maxxie (gorgeous Mitch Hewer) in the gay-friendly TV series Skins. When the gang went on a trip to Russia, Tony hit on Maxxie. Eventually, Maxxie gave in and Tony gave Maxxie a BJ, thinking that his girlfriend was asleep.

The kiss the two beautiful boys shared was thrilling, even though it was brief. I love this gay tv episode of Skins.

Hmmm...

The Kiss

Gay wedding. In Brothers & Sisters. Yeah! Kevin (Matthew Rhys) popped the question in the episode before, and in this episode, we watched he got married to handsome Scotty (Luke MacFarlane).

This is the best gay tv episode of the season. : )

So, the gay was outed in the Gossip Girl series. When the buzz was buzzing about a gay character appearing in the Gossip Girl, I prayed hard that it would not be Chuck. Of course, we want Nate (Chace Crawford) or Daniel (Penn Badgley) to be the gay one. Yeah, right. Like that would ever happen.

And then, it was revealed that it would be Eric (Connor Paolo), Serena's cute brother. There's a God meeting us halfway. And the good news was that it would be discovered through a kiss. A KISS???!!! That would be a young kiss. That sounds kinky.

And then, the kiss came. That was it???

And it did not help to show that the other guy was a jerk. Gee, thanks a lot.

Well, at least it happened. Gay happened in Supernatural. You know. That show with the homoerotic content about 2 gorgeous-looking brothers who are stuck with one another as they go hunting and destroying demons, ghosts, vampires etc etc. It was bound to happen. And it did. Except that the gay plot does not involve our favorite Ghostbusters hunkies, but guest actors. (But if you check back, there 3 episodes with some gay sub-text implanted in the tv series).

Alan (acted by Dustin Milligan). Said to have interest on another male character. And that is the gayest we can get from Supernatural tv show. A tv show that decides to mock the gays. Hmm... Well, at least Dustin is good-looking.

Storyline : One has to be aware of the hated Roy Cohn to know a little of his impact on the gay community in America in the 80's. I didn't know he existed and thanks to this show, I became aware of the selfish guy he was, portrayed greatly by Al Pacino. Roy works with Joe Pitt, who is a closeted married gay Mormon. He keeps this secret away from his wife, Harper, who is doing too much pills in order to avoid facing the truth about her husband. Joe's mother, Hannah, cannot accept the truth about her son, and comes over for a surprise visit. And in her visit, she comes across Prior, who is battling with HIV alone, since he is dumped by his lover, Louis. At the same time too, there is this funny delusion that Prior is the new chose one since God had abandoned human.

Extravagantly conceived and gloriously realized, Angels in America is not just one of the best television movies ever made - it's also a transcendent work of art. Watching Angels is an ecstatic experience..
